Question from member: What if your kid won’t ever express his worries or fears? I have a feeling that a lot of my child’s challenging behavior is related to anxiety/uncomfortable feelings but he wouldn’t ever acknowledge it. Doesn’t seem to even be aware of it.

You can talk about it in terms of yourself or someone else. Say something like, “Sometimes when I go to new places, I feel a little funny. So do you know what I do? I take some deep breaths and count backwards from 10 [or something that might help your kiddo].”
